Introducing New Instructor Shelly Kang

We are pleased to annouce that we have a new instructor, Shelly Kang, who will be offering Fair Isle Hat and Mitered Square Scarf classes in September and October.

Shelly’s extreme fiber arts enthusiasm starts and ends with knitting, but also includes spinning, dyeing, felting, crochet, sewing and weaving with a few beads thrown in for good measure. She has been teaching at yarn shops, fiber festivals and workshops for more than a decade, and publishes her own designs for sale through local yarn shops and on Ravelry (ravelry ID – shellykang). Made famous by her Mitered Square Sock Yarn Blankie, Shelly is most likely to be caught knitting socks while carpooling her two daughters, and more complicated sweaters and shawls on the couch after they are in bed. When she’s not knitting and chasing children, Shelly loves poking around in her vegetable garden (but mostly ignoring the weeds in the flower beds), cooking and baking from scratch, training for triathlons and convincing Fred, her chocolate lab puppy to stop destroying the house and everything in it.
